President and CEO

Cathy is the President & CEO of GrantPartners Hawai‘i, a woman-owned fundraising firm laser-focused on grant writing and grant consulting. She has 26 years of professional fundraising experience, raising over $40 million for Hawai‘i’s nonprofit organizations.


Experience
Cathy most recently served as the American Cancer Society’s Executive Director, Hawai‘i Pacific, and the lead staff and grant writer for the $14 million Hope Lodge Hawai‘i capital campaign. Cathy also served as the Society’s Director of Institutional Funding Initiatives, Planned Giving Director, Capital Campaign Director, and Major Gifts Director during her 12 years at the American Cancer Society.

Background
Prior to working at the American Cancer Society, she was employed as the YWCA of O‘ahu’s Director of Social Enterprise and Director of Marketing & Development. Cathy was President of Marketing Solutions Hawai‘i, Inc. and Principal of The FundDevelopment Group, LLC, as a consultant in fundraising and marketing for over thirty non-profit clients.
Cathy previously served as the President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Aloha Chapter, leading and representing the 180 members within our community. She has also served on the Finance Committee for the national Grant Professionals Association and as Treasurer for a local chapter.
Her experience and expertise include grant writing, annual giving, capital campaigns, major gifts, strategic planning, feasibility studies, board development, direct mail, public relations, database management, planned giving, and marketing.
Born and raised in Hawai‘i, Cathy graduated from Punahou School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Oregon.
